Aufgaben

"Wie das lebenspendende Blut durch alle Organe fließt, so berührt die Transfusionsmedizin nahezu sämtliche Bereiche der modernen Medizin! Die Universitätsklinik für Transfusionsmedizin und Zelltherapie ist integraler Bestandteil der medizinischen Grundversorgung der Universitätskliniken der MedUni Wien im AKH: Wir gewährleisten das Transfusionswesen und leisten kritische Beiträge zur Transplantationsmedizin."

Die Universitätsklinik für Transfusionsmedizin und Zelltherapie dient der transfusions- und transplantationsmedizinischen Versorgung der Universitätskliniken der Medizinischen Universität Wien im Allgemeinen Krankenhaus Wien.

Sie ist Referenzinstitution in vielen Bereichen der Immunhämatologie für Österreich. An der Klinik werden sämtliche immunhämatologischen Untersuchungen mit Schwerpunkt auf Hämotherapie und Transplantationsmedizin durchgeführt. Dafür stehen wir auch für entsprechende klinische und labortechnische Beratungen zur Verfügung. Zusätzlich führt die Abteilung das Blutdepot des AKH Wien.

Klinische Hämotherapie & Therapeutische Apheresen

Die Apherese ist ein medizinisches Verfahren, welches extrakorporal (außerhalb des Körpers) zumeist mittels eines Zellseparators antikoaguliertes Blut in seine zellulären und löslichen Komponenten mittels Zentrifugation auftrennt. Pathogenetisch relevante Blutbestandteile werden entfernt, wohingegen die Restkomponenten, zumeist inklusive einer Ersatzlösung, dem:der Patient:in zurückgeführt werden.

Von gesunden Spender:innen gewinnen wir an unserer Klinik regelmäßig hauptsächlich Thrombozytenkonzentrate und Vollblut zur Herstellung von Serumaugentropfen zur Versorgung der Patient:innen des AKH Wien.

Qualitätsmanagement

Die Etablierung eines Qualitätsmanagementsystems sichert die Qualität sowie die kontinuierliche Weiterentwicklung unserer Leistungen. Das Qualitätsmanagementsystem wurde entsprechend den Anforderungen der Norm EN ISO 9001:2015 aufgebaut, dokumentiert und umgesetzt.

Zusätzlich zu den Forderungen der internationalen Norm ON EN ISO 9001:2015 sind die Standards der European Federation for Immunogenetics, nach denen das HLA- und DNA-Labor der Abteilung bereits seit 1995 akkreditiert sind, verbindlich. Im Bereich der Stammzell- und Gewebeproduktion ist die Klinik gemeinsam mit der Knochenmarktransplantation der 1. Medizinischen Klinik nach dem europäischen Standard JACIE (Joint Accrediation Committee ISH-EBMT) akkreditiert.
